Serious Street Art Takes the Hamptons

Southampton Arts Center
POV
Beyond the Streets: Post Graffiti makes its point with its title. Indeed, following Saatchi Gallery London’s landmark 2023 exhibit, and graffiti artists now being employed for major corporate ad campaigns, the culture has decisively crossed over. SAC’s thrilling new exhibit, then, aims to explicate its new context, whilst celebrating the camaraderie of some of the genre’s most visionary proponents. It ranges from the slyly snarky - Priest’s Fast Food Wars - to a characteristically playful newer piece by 80s icon Kenny Scharf, to the unflinchingly provocative, with LADY PINK’s Untitled / 7 Train and Guerrilla Girls’ Wealth & Power. Unmissable.
